FW23 NCAA X ULTRABOOST ALL TERRAIN
The adidas Ultraboost 1.0 'College' pack was released in 13 colorways on July 15, 2023. The schools include Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Grambling, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Miami, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Carolina State, Rutgers, Texas A&M, and Washington. This is not the first time adidas has treated its college programs with an Ultraboost colorway for the general public. However, it might be the best edition yet. The adidas Ultraboost 1.0 features a Primeknit upper and BOOST cushion technology for an unmatched look and feel. The shoes also feature a water repellent knit and all terrain outsole.
In the design process, my aim was to incorporate an array of easter eggs, to enrich the wearer's experience and speak to the consumer. Furthermore, my vision extended to ensuring that the schools received the epitome of Ultraboost innovation, exemplified in the All-Terrain iteration—a model inspired by the rugged demands of hiking terrain. The school's logos appear on the tongues alongside its city name and coordinates. The insoles also display alternate logos filling each step with excitement. Even the shoe boxes are designed to pay tribute to the school with sharp design and branding.
