As the color / material designer on the new Adidas “Dia De Los Muertos” 2024 collection, I’m thrilled to share how our team has artfully blended cultural heritage with contemporary style. We chose the Samba OG silhouette in a dark colorway and a light colorway, to pay homage to this vibrant holiday, creating designs that celebrate themes of remembrance, joy, and artistry. Each shoe features intricate embroidery and colorful details, such as the floral embroidery on the eyestay that evoke the marigolds commonly found on ofrendas, or altars.

We meticulously selected a mix of premium leathers and suedes, ensuring not only visual appeal but also comfort and durability. The striking stitch details reflect artisanal craftsmanship, making each pair a standout piece. The collection encapsulates the joyous nature of the holiday through bright colors like orange, purple, and yellow, while the contrasting black and white bases symbolize the delicate balance between life and death. This collection is more than just footwear; it’s a celebration of life, heritage, and the power of remembrance, inviting modern sneaker enthusiasts to embrace the spirit of Dia De Los Muertos in their everyday style.
